TECHNIQUE NOTE |
Biopolymers and small molecules immobilized on solid support are important reagent-tools for biotech research. An antigen immobilized on a solid support, such as agarose bead, magnetic bead, or polymer bead is often used as affinity purification media. Immobilized antigen can also be used as a capture tool for protein/marker identification in drug discovery or as a diagnostic reagent in immunoassay. The development of techniques and methods for immobilization is essential for many biotechnological advancements.
CellMosaic currently provides the following SepSphere™ immobilization kit using agarose beads, and we are adding additional kits configurations as needed. Please inquire if you do not see your current configuration of interest listed or request a custom immobilization service if you are interested in using a solid support other than agarose beads.

AqueaTether® (AqT®) TechnologyEven with sugar-based agarose beads, we experience challenges obtaining high loading of antigen molecules with conventional linkers. When we do manage to achieve high loading, beads aggregate or cluster together, making them difficult to use. AqT® modification can help to reduce the hydrophobicity added by high loading of antigen molecules.
