AqT Biotinylated Secondary Antibodies
CellMosaic® has launched AqT® biotinylated secondary antibodies this October, expanding our AqueaTether® portfolio for streptavidin-based detection and capture. The new line includes goat anti-human, anti-mouse, and anti-rabbit IgG reagents, with intact-antibody and selected Fab′ formats to support different assay requirements.
The new portfolio offers 11 secondary antibody products, combining different IgG specificities, cross-adsorption profiles, and reagent formats. Researchers can select an option that matches their primary antibody and sample, then pair it with a compatible streptavidin reporter.
Site specific labeling for secondary antibody detection
Our intact secondary antibodies are biotinylated at reduced Fc-region disulfide bonds using the super-hydrophilic AqT® linker. This controlled approach places biotin away from the antibody-binding regions and is designed to help maintain binding activity and solubility while limiting aggregation. The intact-antibody products carry an average of 3–5 biotin molecules per antibody.
The Fab′ products use a different labeling site: hinge-region thiols. These monovalent fragments lack the goat Fc region and can help reduce Fc-receptor-mediated background. Their Fcγ specificity describes the region of the primary antibody they recognize; it does not mean that the Fab′ reagent contains an Fc region.
Flexible detection across assay formats
After the secondary antibody binds its primary antibody, a compatible streptavidin reporter supplies the readout. Researchers can choose enzyme or fluorescence detection while retaining the same antibody pair. Applications include ELISA, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and affinity capture, with conditions optimized for the selected reagent and sample.
Cross-adsorbed options help limit reactivity with specified other species. Choose the adsorption profile that fits your assay; the species included differ by product. In samples containing endogenous biotin, appropriate blocking or a biotin-free detection approach may be needed to control background.

Product highlights
CM86152 recognizes the F(ab′)₂ region of human IgG and is cross-adsorbed against bovine, horse, and mouse serum proteins. It is an intact secondary antibody, distinct from the Fab′ fragment products.
CM86174 provides a cross-adsorbed Fab′ option for human IgG Fcγ detection, while CM86155 provides the corresponding mouse IgG Fcγ option. CM86154 offers a non-cross-adsorbed human IgG Fcγ Fab′ reagent.
For rabbit IgG workflows, choose CM86175 for H+L recognition or CM86176 for Fcγ recognition. Their cross-adsorption profiles differ: CM86175 is adsorbed against human, mouse, and rat serum proteins; CM86176 is adsorbed against human serum proteins.
Selecting the right reagent
Start with the species of your primary antibody, then select the IgG region you need to recognize. H+L products recognize heavy and light chains; Fcγ-specific products recognize the Fc region of IgG heavy chains. For human IgG F(ab′)₂ recognition, choose CM86152.
Next, choose between an intact secondary antibody and an available Fab′ fragment. The Fab′ options provide monovalent binding and lack the secondary antibody’s own Fc region. Cross-adsorbed products are useful when reactivity with other species is a concern; review the individual adsorption profile before selecting a reagent.
CM86172 and CM86154 are not cross-adsorbed and may react with immunoglobulins from other species. For corresponding cross-adsorbed human Fcγ options, select CM86173 for the intact antibody or CM86174 for the Fab′ fragment.
